Humility. Hospitality. Attention. Dignity.
The Daughters of Charity in Albany
The Daughters of Charity arrived in Albany in 1828. Over nearly two hundred years, their work in the Capital Region has shaped schools, hospitals, social services and the lives of the people who passed through them. The values that guided that work are the values that ground The Providence today.
In 1971, the Sisters made the 25-acre Menands campus their Northeast Provincial home. DePaul House became the center of the community. The buildings, gardens and grounds have been cared for by the Sisters ever since.
What you see here today isn’t a recreation of that legacy. It is the next chapter of it.
